Spring Cleaning Goals

September 10, 2011 — 2 Comments

Spring is in the air… even in the blogosphere! All over the place bloggers are talking about their spring cleaning efforts and it’s inspired me!

I’ve been meaning to get through the junk on the bookshelves in our study that hubby has kept “just in case”… I’m talking hand written notes from his undergraduate degree that has no relation to his chosen career or current further studies (his current masters study relates directly to his chosen career path). I’ve also been going crazy with the lack of space in our study/spare room and all the stuff we have in our house that we never use! Why keep things in my house that haven’t been used in years?

So… I’ve decided that September is the month that I get a good start on de-cluttering our home, simplifying our lives and organising our space more efficiently so that we can live more comfortably in our home!

De-cluttering goals for September:

  1. Cleanse the study bookshelves of unnecessary study notes
  2. Do a home inventory and list everything we no longer need
  3. List items for sale on Gumtree/ eBay/ Facebook classifieds groups

I’ve begun work on the bookshelves… currently the study looks like a bomb has hit it!

But it’s got to get worse before it gets better right?!

Today I’ve also begun our home inventory and the list of things I want to sell. I’m hoping there is some serious truth to the old adage – one mans junk is another mans treasure!

I’ve even listed three of the items for sale already! Go me!

What are your spring cleaning goals?
