So we saw Bridesmaids and it was a great experience! I discovered that there was a cinema without stairs, a gradual declining room made pram access uber easy! We had plenty of space to sit and deal with our babies in, and the pram parking down the front was hilarious! The lighting was good for feeding and nappy changes without being too distracting from the movie. My son slept through a large portion of the movie… watched a little, though true to form of his male genetics he got bored with it pretty quickly! All I can say is… a good chain of links never goes astray!
The movie itself was quite enjoyable if you put aside the colourful language and the sexual references that weren’t all that necessary. I learned a long time ago that I actually prefer watching movies where the colourful language and sexual references are checked at the door… you’d be amazed at how easy it is to tell a very similar story without it! And the best part when it is dropped? I move on feeling completely great about the experience without regrets or cringe moments in my memory! It seems that life (and movies) these days have gotten far too crass for my tastes! However, I digress…
Back to Bridesmaids… I really enjoyed the story of life and how things change. I think it’s an issue we all face at some point where we really would love our old and new friends to get along, where we have difficulties if old friends cease to be able to relate to where we are at in our lives. For me it also captured those moments (and there are many of them) of total insecurity, wondering why you appear to fail at everything you thought you were good at! I really felt like it depicted the realities of life, self perception and relationships. I left the cinema with the right amount of satisfaction and reflectiveness to be able to say quite honestly that I thought it was a great movie overall!
I’ll definitely be repeating the Movie’s for Mums experience!
