It seems for me that 2012 is the year of learning: to shelve perfectionism; to ask myself better questions and stop my negative self talk; to stop waiting (until things are perfect I suspect); and to stop hiding behind my story that ‘I am trying’… oh the places you’ll go when Continue Reading…

2011 was hands down the most amazing year of my life!
I love Hubby dearly and our wedding day was completely magical! About as close to perfect as you can get on a 42 degree Sydney day! But even Hubby will concede that it doesn’t really compete with the magic of 2011! Having grown a little life inside me for 9 months, I gave birth to Cheeky Monkey in 2011! Life will never be the same again, and there is no way Hubby or I Continue Reading…
Dr Seuss provides some weird and whacky stories that are fantastic for children, they’re great for rhymes and expanding the imagination!
The thing I hate hearing from hubby most is that dreaded ‘T’ word – I will try! Why do I detest it so? Because I know that it means it is an extremely unlikely possibility! So… if I hate hearing it from Hubby so much Continue Reading…
Over the last few weeks my pessimistic view of myself has been challenged, poked, prodded and challenged again! The well ingrained habit of pessimism is fighting hard! It’s feeling very uncomfortable with this rising wave of change… it’s like my pessimistic side knows change is coming, it knows it’s inevitable, but at the same time it’s fighting for its life! What if… for the first time in my life, I truly backed the rising wave of change???
I have my finger in a few pies, but no matter what I’m involved in my m.o. is the same – I participate in planning and training with gusto and then my momentum fizzles out. Take for instance, my Direct Selling endeavors (Nature Direct) – I’ve done a lot of training, been to conferences, networked… but when it comes to numbers of Show ‘n’ Go’s under my belt – well, safe to say it’s too embarrassing to quantify it here! It’s so typical of me! I get fantastic ideas! I get super excited! I start something new… Continue Reading…
Yes, it’s true, Side-tracked Home Executive (SHE) is EXACTLY right!
The other day I told Hubby I was going to have a shower… went into the bathroom to get a hair tie (with the intention of then going to our room to get clothes before hopping in the shower)… I got in the shower about an hour later! I got distracted by the state of the bathroom and started cleaning it, next thing I knew I was washing down the cupboard doors and the walls that had been bugging me for quite some time. How did that happen? At the bathroom cupboard I thought about the child lock I wanted to use it on the bathroom draw to keep little hand away from potential dangers stored in the draw… to put the lock on, the surfaces need to be clean and dry – and so the side-tracking goes on and on! I had been putting off cleaning the bathroom for a while, so it wasn’t a waste of time, or ‘unplanned’ seeing as I don’t really ‘plan’ any cleaning! It’s just one of those chores that is such a drag isn’t it?! But does it have to be this way? Continue Reading…
Do you ever find thinking and planning debilitating? Or should I say OVER thinking and anal excessive planning… Where you’re so determined to plan things out perfectly and do it perfectly the first time that you disappear into the planning and never actually get anywhere near the execution stage?
I’m all too familiar with that space… I’ve found myself there lately in relation to this blog… I’m so busy planning the perfect blogging space, what I want the blog to become, the things I’m going to write about, how I’m going to interact on social media and more, that I forget the basics – writing blog posts! Continue Reading…
So… going from working ‘full-time’ to being a stay at home Mum is learning the TRUE definition of full-time work!!! Forget this 9-5 nonsense (or variations on it)… motherhood is called welcome to 24/7!!! And for all the guys who say… yes, well you get to rest when they go to sleep… you come and teach my son to sleep for longer than 40 minutes at a time and see how well you fare with getting up to him when he’s having a cranky day and pretty much wants you to hold him and walk around the house all day! See how much cooking, cleaning, laundry and the like you can get done under those conditions!!!
Don’t get me wrong… my hubby is great, he loves his little boy, he loves playing with him and is very good at nappy changes and taking the little boy when I am desperate for time out! Parenting is definitely a partnership in our house… but I’ve got to say, in most cases, even great Dad’s don’t experience what Mum’s do… Continue Reading…
Men huh?! They seriously learn their wayward ways from a young age don’t they?!
I took my little one out to the wash line the other day and he fell sleep on his bouncer seat while I was hanging out the washing… it was gorgeous!!! I love it when they’re good like that and you can get things done! I’m learning that getting the washing out on the line (yes I am a user of modern cloth nappies… I’ll do a post about those another day) and the dinner on the table is a very productive day! Boy how life has changed!!!
I used to get an amazing amount done in a day… Continue Reading…
